  • Beskrivelse: A free adaptation of Alexander Dumas’ famous novel, The Lady of the Camellias. The main character is a charming painter, Dimitris Perotis. Coming from a good family of the country, he meets a girl of ill-repute, Margarita, who embodies a mixture of coquetry, sensuality, cynicism and selfishness. Dimitris paints her portrait and flirts with her, unaware of her nature. Thanks to his love and persistence, he manages to pull her away from an elderly swindler, Alexis, who has “offered” her to a rich friend of his with the intent of getting money from him. When the relationship between Dimitris and Margarita becomes public knowledge, it embarrasses his sister, who is going to marry a young politician. The young man’s father comes to Athens and asks Margarita to disappear from the family’s environment. Margarita concedes, and Dimitris leaves for Paris. Soon, Margarita falls seriously ill and finally dies in the arms of her beloved Dimitris, who had heard from a friend about her illness and rushed back to Greece.
